Carmageddon ruffled a lot of feathers when it originally released in 1997. But it was also a damn fine arcade combat racer. Its sequel, 1998's Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now, refined the formula and expanded the gameplay. And after a couple of other Carmageddon games not done by the original development team at Stainless Studios, the founding creators now have the rights to the IP back. They Kickstarted Carmageddon: Reincarnation in 2012, and the game is now finished and released on Steam for PC.
Stainless' Neil "Nobby" Barnden, the co-founder of the studio, stopped by IGN to play through all three of the Carmageddons. Join us as Neil shares stories of the game's development, the political firestorm that surrounded the original game's release, and how a fallen member of the development team is remembered in the new game.
