Former employees of Daybreak Game Company who were laid-off shortly after the company was acquired by investment firm Columbus Nova could have their jobs back.
At least, that's the hope of Daybreak president John Smedley. "We're not looking for new employees. We're looking for old ones," he said.
In an interview with Polygon, Smedley opened up about tough choices that were made once Sony Entertainment Online became Daybreak Game Company.
"Financially, we just weren't in the shape we needed to be," Smedley said, referring to the reasons behind the layoffs. Costs were stacking up more quickly than revenues, and "and we had to get that right-sized."
