Apple Releases Second Quarter Financial Results

Apple released its second quarter earnings report today, announcing that revenue was up 27% for a quarterly revenue of $58 billion USD. Its profits for the same period clocked in at $13.6 billion.

International sales accounted for 69% of the revenue for the quarter, reflecting the high demand in emerging markets such as China for Apple products.

Luca Maestri, Apple’s CFO cited "tremendous customer demand for our products and services,"  in the March quarter. iPhones and Macs have never sold as well in any second-quarter before, and the App Store "reached "all-time record performance."

Apple expects to post revenues of $46 to $48 billion for the third quarter of its fiscal year. The third quarter of the year will show whether or not Apple Watch appealed to consumers.
