Android O Beta Program is Live

While we still don’t have an official name for Android O, Google is still rolling out testing versions of the next major version of Android. Our first taste of Android O came in the form of a Developer Preview, but today Google has announced that the Android O Beta Program is live for users to sign up for.

If you are on one of the following eligible devices:

then you’ll be able to sign-up for the Beta Program right here. Do note that if you sign up for this program, you will enter a different update channel than the regular stable one, so you will no longer receive those OTAs. Furthermore, if you do decide to leave the Beta Program, your device will be forced to perform a factory reset.

For those of you who were previously running the Android Nougat Beta Program, then you’ll have to re-enroll into the Android O Beta Program. I’m sure many of you liked running the Beta Program, given that it offered the ability to try out new features before anyone else. Just note that there’s no guarantee that all of the features you enjoy in the Beta Program will make their way into the final stable release, so be sure not to get your hopes up too much.
