Samsung wants in on the ad blocking party and they’re doing just that with the 4.0 update to their Samsung Internet web browser. The update now adds a Content Blocker extension API that lets 3rd party applications(like Adblock Fast and Crystal) tap into the Samsung Internet browser and block ads for users.
Motorola has launched the “shatterproof” Moto X Force in India, for a price tag of Rs. 49,999 ($736) for the 32GB storage variant, and Rs. 53,999 ($795) for the 64GB storage variant. The phone will be available for purchase via Flipkart and Amazon.in, as well as Spice Hotspot and Croma stores from February 8th.
Samsung is rumored to release the Galaxy S7 on March 11th, according to Evan Blass‘ sources, but we will see the official unveiling before then. The South Korean tech giant has just published a video on YouTube that announces its first Unpacked 2016 event. This will take place on February 21st, just one day before Mobile World Congress 2016.
BlackBerry is launching the Priv in India today and during the launch event, a BlackBerry product manager revealed some interesting information. Damian Tay is quoted saying “The PRIV device is essentially our transition to Android ecosystem. As we secure Android, over a period of time, we would not have two platforms, and may have only Android as a platform”.
Verizon and Qualcomm have been fighting to get approval of their LTE-U technology that uses the same 5Ghz spectrum as common WiFi networks. Google, Microsoft, Comcast and others opposed this recently, but the FCC has just approved some limited performance tests to happen. These tests will take place in Oklahoma City, OK and Raleigh, NC, and they will be monitoring the tests for WiFi interference.

The S7 is a much-awaited flagship by the android community at large, but like with every Samsung release, there are still many users skeptical of the upcoming Galaxy, and with good reason too.
It’s undeniable that Samsung phones have packed some of the best hardware in the past, but their software has always left plenty to be desired, and in 2015 the company abandoned their microSD and removable battery tradition, instead opting for the premium design that arguably revitalized much interest in the line-ups. Now that the S7 is approaching, with a rumored launch date of February 21 and a March consumer release, it’s time we begin discussing our expectations for the upcoming Galaxy — including what we want and what we don’t want to see.
